How long are the tours?
Generally between 4 - 5 hours, however there could be an instance where we need to extend the tour if there are mechanical issues and need to assist someone.
Can I book and pay online?
We are not currently taking online bookings or payments online. Please call or text 540-333-6875 to make a reservation.
Is payment required to book a tour?
Yes, payment in Full is required to make a reservation.
Are reservations required?
Yes, we require reservations at least 24 hours in advance.
What is your cancellation policy?

Are pets permitted on the trail?
Yes, we welcome well-behaved pets on the trails, as long as the owner ensures they take full responsibility for their pets behavior and safety.
What tools should I bring?
A small toolkit, portable air compressor, fire extinguisher, tow straps and extra fluids. (Not required, but highly recommended)
What should I wear?
Closed-toed shoes and clothes that you okay with getting muddy or possibly ruined. Bring an extra set!
Are the tours safe for everyone?
Off-road tours are rough, bumpy rides through rigorous terrain. Tours are not suitable for guests with back problems, neck problems, motion sickness, pregnancy, major medical conditions, or any other health condition that can be aggravated by a bumpy ride through rough terrain.
Do I need to have Off-road experience?
No, these 4WD guided Adventure Tours are appropriate for all varying levels of experience from beginner to intermediate 4x4 drivers.
Could my vehicle be damaged during a tour?
Yes, however every effort is made by AOA to make the trails as safe as possible, you are advised to closely follow instructions given by the Guide. There is a possibility of damage to your vehicle when traveling rough terrain. Any damage is the owners responsibility, the owner is aware of any and all risks before entering the trails. Neither AOA nor The Cove Campground are responsible for any damage while done on the property.
Are the guides experienced?
The guides are local, off-road enthusiasts with over 20 years experience, who know the trails very well.
We don't like large groups/big crowds, how many vehicles are normally in your tour?
We understand, we do not have any more than 10 vehicles in a group. Also, we offer private experiences as well if you don't want anyone else in the group, call for pricing.
Should I bring medication?
If you are allergic to bee stings etc., please be prepared and bring the appropriate medications. There is a first aid kit in the guide Jeep, but they do not carry Epi-Pens or items that require a prescription.
Cancellation Policy
When you book your Appalachian Offroad Adventure Tour, we are holding you a space on our calendar that is no longer available to other Adventurer’s.
If cancellation is necessary, we require that you call/text/or email AOA at least 7 days in advance to receive a refund (less cc fees). This will allow us time to book someone else in your spot.
Appalachian Offroad Adventure tours are in high demand, and your advanced notice will allow another Adventurer time to schedule a tour should you have to cancel yours.
How to Cancel Your Appointment
If you need to cancel your appointment, please call or text (540)333-6875. If necessary, please leave a voicemail message. We will return your call as soon as possible. Email cancellations should be sent to angela@appalachianoffroadadventure.com. If tour is not cancelled within this time-frame, no refunds will be given. No exceptions! If tour is paid by credit card, the credit card fees will not be refunded.
Late Arrivals
AOA tours have pre-set departure times, we will not hold up the others in the Adventure due to late arrivals. If you are late for your scheduled guided tour, and the tour leaves without you, we are unable to issue you a refund.
Inclement Weather
AOA reserves the right to cancel due to inclement weather. If the tour is cancelled due to inclement weather/unsafe conditions, you will be given an opportunity to reschedule the tour within a year during normal business days.
Mechanical Issues/Failures
If the tour must be cancelled due to mechanical issues/failures, you will be given an opportunity to reschedule the tour within a year during normal business days.
Owners Right to cancel
Full refunds will be given in the event AOA has to cancel a tour due to an emergency arising.
